The place was just as described, clean rooms, helpful staff and shops within walking distance along with a few food options. It's near the highway so a bit of noise is present. They're pet friendly and do charge a $10 fee.
My room smelled like cigarette smoke. I slept well though. The McDonalds being next door was nice after a long day on the road. I could eat and be back in my room quickly. Also a gas station is close. It can be a little confusing to get back on the interstate from their parking lot. You can’t get straight back on. You have to travel south a bit on a side road. My time in Oregon was pleasant though.
I've stayed here twice in the last month. Most important: the rooms are super clean and the beds are comfortable. Seriously, I would put the cleanliness and mattresses against several 4+ star places I've stayed in. The blackout drapes are legit: no light gets through them. Super awesome.
Shower heads accommodate people up to six feet easily. Always nice! The bathroom has a hair dryer, microwave, fridge, one cup coffee pot, and comes with shampoo, conditioner, and soap. Check your fridge temps - my salad froze. ;)
It's close to I5 and McDonald's, so it's not the quietest place. That said the freeway noise kind of becomes white noise after a bit. Friday night is apparently the night people go to McDonald's and scream in the parking lot, so have fun with that.
The hot breakfast is hot... But it's carbs (waffles, oatmeal) and not protein. Still, decent selection for complimentary breakfast. The coffee is pretty awful. You've been warned.
Kind of noisy from the nearby traffic and average cleanliness. For some reason there was a pair of pants outside the door....Definitly more of a complimentary breakfast rather than full like the website says. There's only over the air cable. Overall not too terrible and very nice employees.
They recently got hit by lightning, and it wreaked their wifi system. It was mostly back on line but my room had no connection. The offered to move me to a new room. I thought that was thoughtful. It did work in the front office, and I felt totally welcome setting up shop to get some work done.
The staff is great, super friendly and accommodating. The office has a computer for guests to use.
We paid a pet fee, house keeping never changed our sheets i had to do it myself they charged us additional fees for sheets one of the dogs had an accident on and the gal i spoke to on the phone about it was less then pleasant. I ended up calling corporate office to open a claim. Corporate was amazing but the Albany Super 8 is not worth the hassle. They tried to charge us a deposit for a third night but not for the first two!!!!
The TVs have a large selection of cable channels.
